Welfare and child protection

scottishathletics in partnership with UKA, Children 1st, CRBS and Disclosure Scotland has developed a number of resources that will ensure a safe environment for all people involved in our sport. You may also like to view the Volunteer Scotland PVG Guidance.

We recommend that ALL people doing regulated work attend a Safeguarding and Protecting Children course as part of their development. ALL club welfare officers should attend the In Safe Hands workshop.

The links below are to help clubs and individuals with their development and knowledge of child protection.

If you require PVG forms, please contact Welfare Officer Lorraine Nicholson-Bennett detailing your requirements and your mailing address.

Clubs will also find useful resources in the Welfare section of the Club Development Toolkit.

The following documents offer useful guidance for clubs and coaches/volunteers/officials on safeguarding children when using social media.
